Finite And Infinite (War) Games
Xi, Trump, Thiel, Girard, Vance, Sinek, and Carse Need to Use “The Force”
It was mid-December following the failed 2022 midterm elections when Peter Thiel took the stage in front of a captive Reagan Library audience.
The Republican party and the GOP candidates had just lost nearly every important mid-term race but one. JD Vance won in Ohio, thanks in large part to his angel investor Peter Thiel.
As such, he was a winner in a room full of losers.
This was the moment— that Peter Thiel, mastermind, finally showed his hand.
Thiel’s Reagan speech ushered in the Technocratic Era. It heralded the second coming of Donald Trump, and greased the skids for VP Vance. It broadly outlined US’s anti-China policy. And if you hear the dog-whistle, you know The Force* behind all of it.
I have kept tabs on Peter Thiel news for a long time.
Not because he founded PayPal with Elon Musk. Not because he founded Palantir which many consider to basically be the big brother behind Big Brother. Not because he ruthlessly destroyed Gawker after the publication outed him as gay. Not because Thiel likes to culturally appropriate Star Wars’ rag-tag rebellion as proxy for his vision of a Technocratic GOP.
No, I began paying attention to Peter Thiel because he is Rene Girard’s acolyte.
